Charleston (Charlie) Bath, LMSW

Charlie holds both a Bachelor of Psychological & Biological Science degree from the University of Connecticut (UCONN) and a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University and is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Connecticut and the State of New York. 


Clinically trained at Fordham University, Charlie's training focused on working across the lifespan with adolescents, adults, and the elderly.

 

Charlie's approach developed during her academic and experiential work as well as many diverse post graduate trainings. This training includes a rich foundation in:

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Skills Training (DBT)

Trauma Focused Therapies

Motivational Interviewing

Family Therapy approaches

She regularly attends clinical trainings to keep current on knowledge and skills relating to specific treatment approaches as well as furthering her expertise in the science of behavior, human development across the lifespan, and emotional and psychological wellness.   

 

Charlie has practiced as a Social Worker in a skilled nursing facility and residential care home where she provided group therapy for clients with mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, addictions, and more  while incorporating CBT, MI, DBT and grief approaches. She has experience creating treatment plans tenured towards different client’s goals.

Charlie is highly experienced in working closely with other medical and mental health professionals, school professionals, and other community associations to help people gain relief from symptoms while developing greater insight and awareness, reducing problematic or disruptive behaviors, improving interpersonal, family, academic, career and community functioning, and overall well being.
